Jakarta, 26 August 2025 — The Faculty of Law, Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia, opened the 2025 academic year with an inspiring public lecture for its incoming cohort. Held at Yustinus Hall, Semanggi Campus, the event featured Managing Partner of AFS Chambers, Adrian Fernando, through the firm’s #CampusConnect program.
In a session titled “Becoming a Law Graduate: In This Economy (2),” Adrian Fernando shared his experiences and reflections on the long journey of becoming a law graduate amid the uncertainties of today’s world and the rapid advancement of the AI era. He emphasized that studying law is not merely about mastering theory, but also about building integrity, consistency, and adaptability.

“Legal education is not short, and becoming a good law graduate is not a brief journey either. Those who endure are not only the smart ones, but also those who are honest, consistent, and willing to adapt,” Adrian remarked during his address. He further underscored the importance of students defining their academic and career paths early on—whether as judges, prosecutors, lawyers, academics, or in other legal professions. According to him, law students should leverage the resources, networks, and opportunities available during their studies to hone the skills most relevant to their future careers.
The lecture provided not only valuable insights but also strong motivation for first-year law students to better prepare themselves for the realities of an increasingly competitive legal profession. The atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm, with many students actively asking questions and sharing their perspectives on their own journeys toward becoming law graduates.
Through the #CampusConnect initiative, AFS Chambers reaffirms its commitment to bridging the gap between legal education and professional practice, enabling students to not only grasp theoretical foundations but also understand the dynamics of law in the midst of economic, social, and technological change.
This event is expected to serve as a strong foundation for the 2025 cohort of the Faculty of Law, Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia, as they embark on their academic journey—shaping a generation of resilient, relevant, and socially engaged legal scholars.
