Jakarta, 15 July 2025 – AFS Chambers proudly announces its success in safeguarding the legal interests of its client, a leading Hong Kong-based manufacturing company together with its main contractor, in a criminal investigation concerning alleged violations of spatial planning and trade regulations related to the development of a factory in Ngawi, East Java. The factory project forms part of Indonesia’s National Strategic Projects, carrying significant importance for both regional and national economic development.
The case was once the focus of an investigation by the Police Office of East Java, during which our client faced allegations that threatened to disrupt the progress of the project. Through precise legal strategies, comprehensive arguments, and intensive coordination with relevant stakeholders, AFS Chambers successfully demonstrated that the allegations were legally unfounded.
As of July 2025, the investigation has been officially terminated by the police. This decision represents a crucial milestone not only for our client but also for the continuity of a project of strategic national value. This achievement reinforces AFS Chambers’ commitment to protecting clients’ legal interests with professionalism, effectiveness, and integrity, particularly in navigating complex cases with significant public and private impact.
Adrian Fernando, Managing Partner of AFS Chambers, emphasized: “This achievement demonstrates that legal certainty can be upheld through integrity and well-crafted legal strategies. We remain committed to supporting our clients in every legal challenge, especially those directly tied to national development and the public interest.”
