At the beginning of 2025, the President of the Republic of Indonesia established the Investment Management Agency of Daya Anagata Nusantara (Badan Pengelola Investasi Daya Anagata Nusantara “BPI Danantara”) as an entity that (i) is responsible for managing investments and assets owned by all State-Owned Enterprises (“SOE”) and (ii) aims to consolidate the national economic strength under the management of SOE.
The Role of BPI Danantara
BPI Danantara plays a key role in:
- Managing state assets professionally, transparently, and sustainably, adhering to the principles of good governance;
- Optimizing SOE assets and state wealth to create significant economic value for national development;
- Driving national economic growth through strategic investments in priority sectors;
- Accelerating domestic and international investments by building strategic partnerships that support inclusive and sustainable national development;
- Establishing a Sovereign Wealth Fund (SWF).
The Structure of BPI Danantara
BPI Danantara has an organizational structure consisting of a Supervisory Board and an Executive Body. The Supervisory Board is responsible for overseeing the administration of BPI Danantara carried out by the Executive Body. The Executive Body is tasked with managing BPI Danantara’s operational affairs.
In addition, BPI Danantara’s operations are supported by an Advisory Board and a Monitoring and Accountability Committee, which may be established by the President as needed.
